We believe that markets need trustworthy and transparent information in order to grow. Since 2007, Ecolabel Index (formerly ecolabelling.org) has been the global provider of that information for the ecolabel market.

As the largest global database of ecolabels — consumer facing logos that claims an added environmental or social benefit — Ecolabel Index has a number of goals, including:

1. Collect and structure data on all of the world’s ecolabels on one common platform
2. Increase transparency around the characteristics and qualities of these ecolabels
3. Help producers, manufacturers, retailers, purchasers, consumers, and governments use ecolabels more efficiently and effectively.

This site is a work in progress. We will continue to add fields and metrics over time as we collect more data. We welcome your suggestions on how to improve it.

Team

Ecolabel Index is brought to you by Big Room Inc., a Canadian B-Corp company, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. with an office in New Haven, Connecticut. It was founded in November 2007 with the goal of making it easier for people to make green choices.

Anastasia O’Rourke, Jacob Malthouse and Trevor Bowden, the co-founders of Big Room, are lifelong environmentalists with a history of working with organisations, governments and companies to bring about positive environmental change.
